WebKit Passes Acid3

Finally, WebKit is the first rendering engine to fully pass the acid3 test.

This is just one more reason to use Google Chrome.

Opa's 90th Birthday and My Church Membership

Exciting news! My Opa had his 90th birthday on Thursday. The entire week we had guests (Jan and Albrecht from Germany) staying at our house. They were great people and I'm glad I got to know them.

Yesterday, I officially changed my church membership from Central Baptist Church to Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship. I'm excited to see how God will use me at Pioneer Park. I'm not much of a public speaker, but I try my best. For anyone who missed my testimony, I've got a copy of it right... here...

//     Ben Barth, 2008.09.20: Revision 1

Well, it all starts as a young lad. I heard a sermon by my former pastor Ron Kelway. And he spoke it loud and clear. He talked about God's free gift of salvation and why it's so essential. That evening I went to my dad on the deck and asked him how I can accept Christ into my life. We prayed together, and from that day forward my life has been a difficult yet rewarding one.

Many years ago my testimony would have stopped there. But now my testimony has grown just as I have. New experiences, truths revealed.

Do I have salvation because I'm a good person? Done more good things than bad? No. I'm saved by God's grace. I deserve eternal separation from God. But, John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. And that is an awesome promise. It's a truth that I could understand as a child.

When I think of experiences that have changed who I am. The first thing that comes to mind is a car accident. As many of you know, both my brothers were in a serious car accident. Aaron my oldest brother broke his femur, his jaw, and had a collapsed lung. Jesse who received the brute of the accident was found in the car with no signs of life. He was later revived by the grace of God through the work of paramedics. Jesse had severe internal bleeding including the brain, a shattered pelvis and many other serious injuries. God was clearly evident throughout the entire ordeal. Aaron broke his jaw cushioning Jesse's fragile head. An extra emergency doctor accidentally came to work on his day off, allowing a surgeon to work on both of my brothers. God knew they needed those extra hands. God provided comfort and peace when we couldn't muster any from ourselves, building faith, guiding hope, and showing love.

I once heard that you can miss heaven by 18 inches. There are 18 inches between your head, and your heart. And that knowing about God, is entirely different than knowing God. I encourage you all to seek this God that is wildly in love with you.

I'd like to thank my family, Central Baptist Church as well as this church family for encouraging and supporting me throughout my walk with God.

Thanks

My something has arrived

Today my something from somethingstore.com arrived. And I'm actually quite happy with what I received. They sent me a professional microphone. Maybe I'll be daring and use it to record a song or two.

The Tech Life

My computer came in, and it's awesome. I've never touched a computer as powerful as this.

Oh, and I was wrong about the video card being a NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT 512MG DDR3. It's actually 1GB. Even better. :)

Google Chrome

Wow! Google is starting a new project called Google Chrome. Sorry Mozilla, but I think this new approach to the web is exactly what we need. Web based applications. And I'm guessing they will tightly integrate google gears, and other such technologies into Chrome. I can hardly wait to use this browser!

Update: You can download it from http://www.google.com/chrome/
